Ms Kimberly McKnight’s Link> Teaching Teens About Auto Safety  Every year, tens of thousands of people die or are injured in the United States due to an automobile accident. In 2009, approximately 3,000 fatalities in crashes involving younger drivers from ages 15 to 9 were reported. Most accidents occur because the drivers are careless or distracted. Many drivers take auto safety for granted but it only takes a few seconds for an accident to happen.
