 The 5 hour pre-licensing course is required by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles for all permit holders wishing to make a road test appointment.  The class covers topics such as defensive driving, drinking and drugs and driving, seat belts and airbags, road rage and more.  We offer a FREE road test appointment to all of our 5 hour class students.  You must bring the completion certificate from the 5 hour class along with your permit to the road test.  Most folks dread the five hour lecture, fearing a boring, drawn-out session.  At AAAA Secure Driving School, we are proud of our vivacious staff of experienced instructors.  They will make the procedure as "painless" as possible.

Upon completing the 5 hour class and receiving your certificate, we can schedule your road test.

6 HOUR CLASS

The six hour point/insurance reduction course is offered to any driver who wishes to have a 10% break on their liability and collision insurance or a 4 point reduction off of their driving record.  The 10% insurance premium discount is good for three years.  The 4 point reduction of your driving record can be utilized every 18 months.  Sure it's a drag to sit in a classroom and give up half a Saturday, but think of the SAVINGS!!!!!  If you're paying $2,000 per year for liability and collision, this course will save you $200 per year for the next three years.  That's a total savings of $600!  The course pays for itself many times over.  It would be foolish not to make use of it.  Our agency is USA Training Co. and our friendly agent is V. ROAD TEST APPOINTMENTS

When you and your instructor decide it's time to take your road test, we will make your appointment, free of charge.  We will schedule you a regular road test.  You may request the location, day and time you want.  The waiting period to get the appointment varies but typically it's  five to eight weeks, depending on the time of year.  The waiting period is greater in the summer.

DRIVERS EDUCATION COMPLETION COURSE


Our Driver’s Education completion course satisfies the MV-262 requirement of the newly legislated graduated licensing law.  Due to this new law, 16 year olds can no longer take a road test without extensive additional training.  ( This does not effect 17 year olds who take drivers ed). Unless the 16 year old received his/her permit prior to September 1, 2003, he/she now needs to bring a completed MV-262 document along with the permit and a classroom training certificate to the road test.  There are two ways to complete the MV-262 document.  The student either attains the additional required training hours from a professional entity or a parent.  The training from a parent is, of course, the inexpensive option but New York State law requires  the parent to have a dual brake or conduct the training outside of NYC (i.e., Long Island).  If you opt for the additional training from a professional entity such as AAAA Secure Driving School we will fill out the MV-262 upon successful completion of the driving school course.  NY State law requires 20 hours of additional practice to satisfy the MV-262.  If the teen completes a NY State approved driver education course, (at a high school or college) he/she will have six hours credited to the MV-262 and therefore need only the difference, fourteen hours, from AAAA Secure Driving School. 

At AAAA Secure Driving School, we offer two driver education completion course packages. A 20-hour course for 16 year olds and a 14-hour course for those 16 year olds who have completed a driver education course.  The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles recommends 30 hours of driver training prior to taking a road test of which 10 hours should be in heavy traffic.  The benefit of taking the extra 20 hours will, of course, be the confidence of knowing that you have satisfied this recommendation.  There is no substitute for professional in-car training. 

If the additional 20 hours proves a financial burden, a parent may consider the following option: Have your child take his or her driver’s education course at the age of 16 ½..  Since the driver’s education course is typically four months, your child will be almost 17 upon completion of it.  We can schedule his/her road test on or shortly after their 17th birthday.  In this case, the MV-262 will not be needed.  In order to exercise this option, the student must bring his/her permit and the MV-285 driver education  completion certificate to the road test.  A five hour course completion certificate will not be sufficient.


DRIVER TRAINING FOR THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED


At AAAA Secure Driving School, we provide vehicles that are specially modified to suit the needs for the physically challenged.  We utilize such devices as hand controls for gas/break, left side gas pedal, spin ball for the wheel and extended view mirrors.  In order to evaluate the physical limitation, we have an initial two-hour evaluation course to fully understand what modifications will be right for you.  Upon completing the evaluation, you will be assigned a professional instructor who will recommend a course of in-car lessons.  We offer free pick up anywhere in Staten Island and most of Brooklyn. 

We are affiliated with V.E.S.I.D. and we will help you obtain funding to ease the financial burden of getting your driver’s license.  For those students who have a physical limitation, we have a 95% success rate in helping them obtain their license.  It’s not a question of if, just a question of when.  For permit holders who need to take a pre-licensing course required by New York State Department of Motor Vehicles prior to scheduling a road test appointment, we have a ground floor classroom facility at 3827 Richmond Avenue in Staten Island.  Please call
